B: that video was awesome. Not sure why i never saw that but shame on me for not. You have sold me on Tomek Baginski and spark my curiosity even more.

ALIENT COVENANT

The movie gave me an unsettling feeling at the end although I knew this was going to happen.

It was not the droid they were looking for.

Critical thoughts:

1. The incubation time for the alien embryo in humans was way too short.
2. In Prometheus we saw that exposure to the bioweapon mutated the whole organism, in Alien Covenant the virus created a xenomorph in the host body.
3. What in the blazes happened to doctor Shaw? Mutation? Here face was still intact...

Nice things in the movie:

1. The tension build up was quiet intense.
2. The animals also had their "aliens" because of mutation.
3. Guiding the alien through the air shafts made me remember the first alien.

If you also have some thoughts, please share. I'm very interested in the impression the movie gave you.

Finally! :P

Just like you, it gave me a very unsettling feeling. But I guess that's the point of Alien. My response is below:

At the same time, I was disappointed that we didn't go into our origins story more. I  was more intrigued by finding another civilization and the planet they lived on, than by the Alien. But I realize that's ultimately not what the movie was about.

On your thoughts:

1. Agreed, the Aliens just popped out while in the first movie it took quite a while.
2. I think this was because David mutated the virus?
3. I think David's whole lab was pretty unsettling..

My own thoughts:

1. Danny McBride... I'm so used to seeing him in comedy that I still ended up laughing even now that he was in a serious role.
2. I thought Oram was a weak character and the scene where he walked into the face grabber was really a ah c'mon!!! moment.
3. The movie felt short and I expected to see more Alien.. it ended rather quickly once we got into it

 Forgot to mention though, did you see Life yet? That left me even more unsettled..

What Oram did, no explorer in his right mind would do. Biological ground rule: unknown species _especially eggs_  are considered biohazard until they are deemed safe.
Also the tampering with the spores??? Come on! What did they expect? A new formula for antibiotics?

 Still, I think the movie deserves a 7/10 because of the survival horror in it:

I didn't see "Life" yet. I'm waiting for it's release on DVD.
