Went down to the collapsed settlement via the slippery slope near the tomb, then took the lifts back up. Took a wrong turn into the Nightbrother village, got lost in what I think was the tombs before finding my way out (the way I came in) then returning to the Mantis. Took 'bout half an hour in total. By then the late bloomer had bloomed and I got my trophy.

Can confirm, just have to travel to the deepest part of a map, i.e. one of the tombs or the origin tree and you'll see growth. Might have to do it on two planets because it will go through two growth phases.
