My apologies if this is in the wrong forum; feel free to move it if so... I would have sent this to a conventional "Contact EA" inbox but everything's automated and I got redirected here.
I would like to see The Sims 1 and all of its expansions get released on Origin (and/or even Steam via GOG; considering their large userbase), even if it's promoted as a limited-time "on the house" thing. Bonus points if it is made to adapt to newer systems.
Rationale:
1) There are a number of forums on the web showing support for this. There are fans of TS1 who want to play it, and either never got the Complete Collection, lost their CDs over the nearly 17 years, or their systems are way too modernized and won't run the CDs properly, if at all.
2) There are a number of other games released on Origin, before and around the time of TS1, that also got released, but not this one, the titular release that started it all for the series. (ie: Red Alert 2 and its expansion were both released and tuned to run on today's machines)
3) If it's not to be an on-the-house release, it is bound to still be popular enough for people to buy anyway because of its significance to the series; thus adding a commercial incentive for EA to consider this. Especially the Complete Collection, which offered in-game assets that having all of the individual expansion packs did not have. At least that's what I heard.
If anyone else thinks this is a good idea, please chime in and show support.

Hi @scskwirl,
We are always happy to read your suggestions and feedback, thanks for your post! 'Other Sims games' is a good place for this, but I'm moving your post to the Origin Community as your suggestion is more related to Origin than the game itself and more players will be able to see it in there and join. Not everyone will check The Sims old games board, but if there's something EA games for PC have in common, that's Origin

@scskwirl Sims 1, Sims 2 and the The Sims Stories series (Life, Pets, Castaway) are probable the most requested comebacks on The Sims boards and not only. And to be honest, instead of Steam, i would rather have GOG (DRM free is nice and EA has quite a few titles there)
I do not work for EA and i am not associated with the company in any way. I am a player just like you, trying to help wherever i can.I will not answer to any unsolicited PM.

You know, I completely forgot to say "Origin" as opposed to "Steam" (it was late when I wrote this).
But now that you mention it, GOG can work too.

i would buy sims 1 and 2 with all their expansions on origin, gog, steam, epic, anywhere. by not giving us this option they are forcing us to pirate it. so don't get mad EA, when we pirate * you don't provide us, it's your fault.

Well, I have Sims 1, and all expansions, AND got the 'complete' version for easier installs....
Sims 2 I have most of the expansions, but missing a couple of 'stuff' packs.
Unfortunately, when installing Sims 3, it updated some system files that broke both.

Yes, please release the original Sims for a modern OS! This is the best one of the whole series. I've been longing to play it for years. Give fans a chance to play the original where it all started before releasing another sequel!
