Exactly this. I also have gigabit connection and this is the only launcher that takes ages to download. Not only that, but I can't even pause and switch to another game to download. The launcher is absolute *.

Summarize your bug Slow Download
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Download something from other countries
What happens when the bug occurs? Slow download speed
What do you expect to see? Reasonable download speed
I came home from work, i tried to install ea app and download battlefield 2042 but the download speed was too slow. I have these connections problems only with ea and origin, i tried everything, i reset 3 routers on the house, full reset my pc and still the same problem. I have no issues with other applications, it happens only with ea. I spent 6 hours to troubleshoot this problem with no fix, i even called my ISP and they find that the problem its not from them. The only way i found that worked is to spam uninstall, install for ea application and pause, resume for game download(this is not a fix). I already looked for this problem to your support but clearly you dont have the answer. I saw the PlayPro and i wanted to try it, bad decision after all. You can't even download the games that you want to play, and if you do its because you spend hours pause and resume the download like a maniac. Oh and the other fix i find is to have a vpn, but you pay for vpn so.... Stick to Steam guys, dont even bother to try and install ea app or origin its only waste of time. At least steam support is better and download speed is full beacuse they have optimized servers.

Hey @TboneCY if you see a drastic improvement in download speed when using VPN then this points to a network or ISP issue rather than an EA App or Origin one.
If the issue was with EA App or Origin then using a VPN would have no impact.
Have you spoken with your ISP to look at your aconnection?

There is a fix that a user found on the last page (May I specify a user) which is as simple as launching it in admin mode

EA_Darko, as an IT Admin for over 20 years, running every app with admin level permissions is quite possibly the stupidest thing I have every seen a company representative state.
Running every application as admin is something that should be avoided as much as possible.
What you just suggested opens people up to all sorts of security risks.
There is a very legitimate reason why every major OS on the planet by default sets permissions at the user level and not at root or admin.
Did you think all these developers just wanted to make you jump through a special hoop because they think its funny?
On a secondary note, telling people to open up a crap load of random ports in their router is also not advised from a security perspective.
Most people have an extremely rudimentary understanding of what port forwarding does, and the security risks involved.
Suggesting UPNP on the router might be a bit better as it opens and closes ports as required, at least its supposed to if the software and or router is not crap.
Though it should be stated that multiple devices on the same network playing at the same time can be problematic with UPNP, so that should also communicated.
Lastly, as I stated Im 20 years in IT and I remember the early days quite clearly. Crap positions suck, and you have to trudge through it.
But you will always have to deal with people and people are always going to suck to one degree or another.
If you cant handle people quipping or taking snipes at you without getting butt hurt, as seems obvious from some of your replies, then this line of work might not be the best fit for you.
New name, new look, same great benefits: EA Access and Origin Access are now EA Play.
