Seed Tokens Question.

I was rewarded a Seed 16 token and used it, however it does not get rid of the token, it just knows I've used it and can't use it again. 

Is it something that's a one off thing, and I may aswell sell it for the shards or whatever it offers for selling, or is it worth keeping for future for the next time a reward requires one?
