Agree, this would be a nice feature. What should the character be doing whilst trying to reconnect?

Follow squad?

Crouch while standing still?

Nothing?

Nothing is probably best.

Strongly agree with this.

I vaguely remember a comment being made about concerns that reconnect could be exploited.

If your client crashed your character should just stand still, and remain vulnerable to attack for say 2 minutes. This way people cannot use a disconnect command to vanish in game.

And it would allow players to safely reconnect to a game in cases where there are no nearby enemies, and can still rejoin a game so they can be respawned if players suffer a game crash in the middle of combat.
