@SethCurry You only list worst case scenarios. If it's after a huge fight, i escort the friendly back to all the loot cases so we all can gear up.

If it is after a fight that we had to fall back from, i usually drop a gun, some meds and help by marking stuff i find along the way.

There are bad scenarios yes, but there are also good ones. I managed to get two kills with a P2020 (the last 2) after my squad was downed and dead, fighting the last squad. We ended up winning the game.

Oke so, my short answer is that this is bad.

I can't even count how many times, 1 team mate decided to just run away the moment we were engaged by some enemy team, and just leaves you to die 2v3 while also being the ones taking opening fire, often downing 1 of 2 fighters making it a 1v3.

Now, you literally have to wait, X amount of time + 90 second banner timers watching this abandoning Andy, run around and loot while letting you rot before you can leave.

Absolutely terrible!

Then there's trolls, who intentionally let you bleed out so they can take that extended light mag lvl3 he saw you pickup, despite having better armor, and better weapons than you, he still wants to take that one good thing you found.

Lets all rejoice the fact we're not free to leave that game!

Then there's the guy who splits off from squad before dropping and lands solo on other side of the map,. Guess what, you can't leave.

Long story short, in order to leave a game anyway, I will either shoot in random directions and set  off some grenades to draw 3 teams on top of mine to get everyone killed (much worse than someone leaving) or simply run off on my own far away from squad, drop a frag grenade and sit on it to kill myself and wait for banner to timeout.

People who want to leave still leave either way, and people who have legitimate reason to leave (like getting trolled, or having anti-team players in squad) are now facing penalties to leave.

@SethCurry  That doesn't make too much sense. Even if you aren't able to snag a gun or whatever..at least you're another body that can potentially distract someone enough for your teammate to take down. I've WON multiple games when I (hell, even one of the other guys) was killed and brought back- and we won because we stayed. I don't entirely see how being brought back is considered "pointless".

Ive done this also, i had no shields, no gun, so i ran and zig zagged in front of the other team as bait as my teammates flanked, i died agian(oh well!) And they finished off the team and revived me agian lol

Does anyone know when this is going into effect / live ?

Glad to see Respawn doing something with leavers. even though sometimes it pains me that the last teammate dropped in airfield while we're in Runoff <Add area here>. and watch this bot camp thinking he's MLG while not recovering banners.

Like someone else mentioned it was bad taking out the last 2 man squad and getting to your teammates banner just for them to leave. Do I think the punishment need to be more severe. Don't know yet but am glad to see the game improve, and we won't be penalized if we're a man down.

I have never left a game because my teammates were less than average, we’ve all been there, not to mention some are probably younger than the average gamer.

I always give everyone a fair chance to recover my banner.

There’s nothing more insulting, and frustrating, than running back to a teammate’s banner, for him to leave the game, when you could have easily recovered said banner.

If I start off the game as a full team, and someone leaves before we even jump, I do ask my remaining teammate if he wants to give it a go regardless, but as mentioned in the OG link, you won’t be penalized by leaving a team that isn’t full.

Placed top 3 on many occasions as a duo from the get go, isn’t that actually rewarding on it’s own?

If it was up to me, I'd increase those minutes! lol

This is all good and fair, but... I don't care if they're younger than me. Most of the time I have no idea how old they are and could care even less about that. If you see that your teammate without any armor and with a p2020 rushes into skulltown cause he's hearing gunshots right at the beginning of the match, I can deduce that his brain functions aren't optimized for this game. If I see that he's getting downed and he leaves right at that second, I'm like 'Yea, what did you expect? You think I'm gonna follow you in there when I can clearly hear a spitfire, R301, R99 and other guns, while I'm holding my privates and a mozambique?!' Then it's me and the other dude, sometimes this other dude has some good thinking and actually waits (and what I can imagine, looking at the killfeed) till he sees 'bleed out' and hears no more gunshots. Then we try to push. Sometimes... this guy's also a weird one and just rushes over to avenge his fallen brother and dies, disconnects...

If I die... which frankly happends alot (XD) I can see if my teammates will be able to pick up my banner or I can see what they're doing. I rarely disconnect if I see that my teammates are close. But if I ping in-flight that there's enemies near me... even if I take one down and saw no enemies near my teammates and those guys are still looting like 30 secs run away from me, I'm leaving. Especially if I get downed or killed and I still see them looting or ffs running away with blue armor and a good gun while my opponent has like 20 health left...

Yes, I've had it too that I got a teammates banner, after I killed the guy or the team who killed him... once actually 5 seconds away from a respawn point, and they leave. That's annoying. But if you see that there's no way, I'm not gonna waste my team. If you get good in gaming overall and have some good brains, you basically know how a situation can play out. You can see who's the better player. I at least can in most situations... yet my stupid judgement still lets me rush into a 4 team battle going up the middle sometimes... Disappointed
