I can't stress the fact of how problematic pinballing in regards of the balance in Fleet Battles. This unfortunate ability is abused by PC players to the point that the targeting computer is too slow to be able to effectively track pinball players.
I suggested to introduce a balance that will affect the "pinball effect" to cause like a complete power failure to the fighter if the ability is spammed more than normal. If not, allow capital ships and their escorts to be able to cope with the pinballers either using tractor beams or completely disrupt their ability to lock on to such targets while spamming pinballing.
Another solution is to allow players to be able to find servers with the crossplay option disabled because consoles are at a huge disadvantage against PC stacks that abuse pinballing.

It's a problem with Dogfights as well, especially if the player has a bad connection, which often makes them warp from one place to another (or even appear at two places at once) at times when they pinball around. Even if you hit them and the hit effect plays they often don't get any damage while they can easily fire away at you. Besides that it doesn't feel appropriate for Star Wars at all.
It isn't just PC players doing this, by the way, many console players are exploiting the same tactic very effectively.
There should be mechanics preventing such cheap, exploitive tactics.
