PS4 Controller on PC: Prompts keep switching back to Keyboard

Hey guys, I'm playing the game on Origin on PC and while I was pleasantly surprised that it natively supports the PS4 controller, for some reason it only shows the PS4 prompts while I'm actually pressing a button on the controller or use the sticks - as soon as there's no input, it switches back to PC prompts and the mouse reappears in menus. Does anyone know how I can solve this and just tell it that I want to permanently use the controller? Any help would be appreciated!
