ORIGIN SPOTLIGHT - PLAYER CONTROLS

Get ready to be more in control of your account and your family’s spending with Origin player controls. With the latest update, we've added these new features:

  • Households - you can now link your EA Account to your family members’ accounts. You can link your teens’ accounts to yours, if you have an adult account, so you can be more in control of what they’re spending.

There’s no limit to how many teen accounts you can add to your Household, so you can easily monitor all of your family’s accounts.

  • Teen accounts - the age for a teen account varies by countryOnce a teen account has been created, you or your teen can request to link their account to your account to create your Household.

Teen accounts have default spending limits, whether or not they’re linked to an adult account. The only way to modify those limits is to link a teen account to a parent or guardian’s Household.

  • Control Spending - teen accounts have automatic spend controls set up for purchases. There’s a monthly limit set by default, which changes per region.

Spending limits are pre-tax and fees. That means that any taxes and fees for the purchase will be charged to the payment method on the account directly instead of coming out of the teen’s spending limit.

How does it work?

Linking or setting up your Control Spending is easy. You can do it right from your EA Account and Billing settings page in Origin, via the Household tab:

The Household tab on Origin.

Select Add Teen Account to link it to your household.

Setting up spend limits for your Household in Origin.

While in your Household tab, select Edit to set up your Spend Limits.

Where do I find more information?
