Offline mode on Xbox?

If I am in "offline" mode when playing, why can friends still see me in the Apex Lobby? Is there a way to stop this? There are a few people I don't want to play with.

@aisthebestletter Tell them that they should play as Gibraltar or Bangalore since Gibby has extra health and Bangalore double times and smokes.

Nah, it is not that they are bad at Apex, it is just that I don't like the way they play. And no, I don't have them as friends but they have me as a friend, hence, they can see me and join me.
