Mass Effect Andromeda mini expansion / co-op character suggestion.

★★★ Novice

A talking point that regularly comes up with friends is Bioware games with a co-op function. I understand that in principle it would be difficulty to implement but I’d like to offer a suggestion just the same.

A mini expansion that is set a year or two after the end of the Reaper War in the Milky Way Galaxy. The protagonist is known only as The N7. During the reaper war, elite teams were sent across the galaxy to defend and hold key positions. The N7 teams also included specialists from various other Milky Way species. At the end of the war many of these specialists stayed on with their teams and the N7 program expanded to include non-human members. The N7 program became a support program for citadel spectres, offering squads of elite specialists to work with council spectres.

If Bioware wants to take a trans galactic mass relay plot, the N7 is tasked with uncovering the location of the Reaper Citadel in dark space.  The “Dark Citadel” aside from being a reaper grey coloured citadel and giant mass relay is also a massive data archive for the collective knowledge of every harvested species that came before. Depending on the player’s ending choices this can have a significant or not so significant impact. That archive contains data that was lost when Reapers have been destroyed.

Various galactic threats ensue blah blah blah.. the data is transferred off the “Dark Citadel” and a decision is made to send another wave of colonists to the Andromeda galaxy inside the Dark Citadel. Several warships will be carried aboard the Citadel as protection.

Key points for the N7 protagonist. The N7 can be created to mirror any of the race / class combinations from the ME3 Multiplayer, excluding awakened collector. You include that but it would be weird. Geth are available if they survived your ME3 ending. Once ME:A2 launches, the N7 becomes a companion on the pathfinder team, making the N7 a player created and customized companion.

The N7 also plays another role as the avatar for your friend in story mode co-op. Your friends can play their N7 in your game in story co-op mode. They will not impact your decisions directly but they can tag along as a squad mate. Once your friend disconnects from your game, the N7 reverts to your saved N7.

Eg. My friend’s N7 is a Krogan vanguard, but I join his game with an N7 Paladin. For the time I’m playing with him, the N7 is a human paladin sentinel. Once I leave, his Krogan N7 returns.

Just a bit of food for thought.
