Loss forgiveness in ranked

Can somebody help me out here? Is there a new thing in ranked mode where if the player leaves while their banner is still recoverable, the rest of the squad gets loss forgiveness? I know it happened while they were knocked, I think they've just added this in, and if so, bravo, Respawn. Tried recovering so many banners only for them to DC

I was wondering the same, two teammates quite on me and i got no forgiveness, this was after they died and rage quit

nothing makes sense with their loss forgiveness system, sometimes, the game can't find 2 other players, you have to 1v3 and get no forgiveness either

It only works in random squads. Obviously it doesn't work with premade teams, since it would be very easily abusable.

I'm not sure how it works in the 1+2 situation.

works every time for me, haven't seen it fail at all. And actually it worked even with full squad today, when our teammate got dropped by game bugs.
