Wife - Why aren't you playing your game?

Me - Well honey they changed the time and...

Wife - Really? they just changed the time on Valentine's Day?

Me - Listen... this is what happened...

Wife - Don't even bother, I know you were just trying to get out of more time with me.

Me - Honey, no that's not it I just..

Wife - I don't believe you

Me - I can show you on the forums!

Wife - Right, like I'm going to read through a bunch of forums. I will just be here wondering what a full Valentine's Day would have looked like. 

Me - We just went out to dinner at your favorite restaurant

Wife - Sorry I'm busy.

Why not ask her before she even notices you're not playing whether she'd like to spend some more time with you?

That way she can't blame you for not wanting to spend more time with her.

That would quickly go into the "What about the game you are supposed to be playing and we agreed to?" and then continue rest of the script haha.

Of course, you'd need to tell the reason why you have more time, too.

Don't wait for her to ask, tell her the truth right away. Otherwise, she might think you are hiding something.

Most women I know don't like it if they have to worm every single sentence out of their husband.

dang that's harsh. I've been married over 6 years now and still consider it a happy marriage. I love my wife but all women just have certain quirks just like we do.
