Talking of which. Would you happen to know if there is any news on whether the team option will be available for XBOX One players?

We don't know what the plan is for these tournaments at this point.  It is still being called a beta on PS4, unless they dropped that for the one that is upcoming.  My gut theory is that this is a testing ground for something they want to feature in GW3.

Not only is the tourney constrained to PS4, but also to Europe and North America, which has many competitive players in other areas like Asia and Australia a bit annoyed.

Thanks info. Didn't realize that XBOX One's market share is seemingly a good deal smaller than that of PS4

Judging from the reddit, where it is very easy to see players' platforms, I don't think the xbox community is smaller.  But I have no idea why PS4 was chosen in particular - perhaps EA/popcap have a better relationship with Sony?

While I'm aware of ESL as a thing, it's not something I've paid much attention to before.  Are most Esports done on multiple platforms?
