God, ever since its release, it has been one frustration after another. First the begging of a scoreboard for 5 months. The still ongoing begging of a server browser in AOW. And yet mostly tho, I wonder why they removed Global chat.
Was it removed to "protect" the new baby sensitive generation or does Dice really think its not useful?
Anyone old enough to remember the old Quake days. During clan matches the smack talk was hilarious and had someone suggested to remove the general chat at the time - it would have been unthinkable. Smack talk is what it is. If you get offended maybe you should not be playing games. But do we really live in a world where EVERYTHING is now offensive? Most people playing dont know each other (i mean some do) so they most likely will never meet IRL. Calling out that opponents team sniper is just part of these games. For all i care, blank out offensive words if you must but really - MOST PEOPLE WHO PLAY BF ARE ADULTS. Sorry for the caps but I am so so tired of this developer and what they have done with BF as a whole.
Your thoughts?

I am assuming it is because everyone is too sensitive these days?!?

I'm pretty old.
The comment has a lot of opinion and assumptions.
Here's another opinion.
Play the game, go to social media if you want to talk and socialize with random strangers. Most chat isn't worth anyone's time who is focused on the game. It's not about being sensitive, the chat is so inane and pointless these days.

Players play games to have a good time. All chat is counter productive to that, simple as that. There are the rare cases all chat is useful, but 95% of the time all chat is used for insults and hate speech. Why should a game developer include a feature that's a detriment the vast majority of the time?

I could make an argument that it should at least be an option in user-ran Portal servers. Considering we're never getting a server browser, and thus nothing remotely like what we had in previous BF games, the least that could be done is a checkbox at setup of a Portal server to have All-Chat be on or off. Maybe you're trying to test something out with a person on each side [and not over a voice chat like Discord] you literally have no way to communicate with another person.
Not even an ability to say 'Nice shot' when someone hits you with a recoiless in a chopper from across the map.

so turn your global chat off. sometimes I wanna tell people they suck, and sometimes I wanna tell them their shot was incredible. If you don't want either, just don't look at it. pretty simple boomer

My experience with all chat is mostly just people calling cheats on good players so I'm not really sad it's gone
