Hello,
I've seen a few other people with this issue, but didn't want to resurrect an old thread (I don't know what the etiquette is here).
When I first installed Jade Empire (downloaded through Origin, through On The House) it worked fine. When I went to play it today (after a long absence), I was met with an error of:
Invalid License. Reason Code = Missing DLL: [d3dx9_29.dll] Error: 0x7E
I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, but that hasn't changed anything. I found a suggestion on the boards to download a DirectX thing from Microsoft, which I did, but everytime I attempt to run it it wants to know what program I want to open it with, and I can't find any suggestion on what I should do at this point.
I'm using Windows 10.
Thanks in advance.

Hey @petekingsman you should be able to fix this issue by downloading and installing this older version of DirectX: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=15478
Let me know how you get on.

Hi @EA_Darko,
That did it. Turned out I'd been trying to activate the wrong item in the download packet - a rookie error.
Thanks muchly

The link doesn't work. I have the same problem, different id code though. Are there any new links that could help?

Same problem as above. Invalid license error. The link you gave gives this "
We're sorry, this download is no longer available."

Hey all, if you check your download folder for Jade Empire then you should see a launcher for an older DirectX included. Can you try running that to see if it helps.

Did you install the older DirectX install @ZortarZ?
Can you grab the full error message that you are seeing?
