Now that you know about the pre-cursor to the Battlefield 2042 Technical Preview, Beta and ultimately the Early Access, you can now see how far EA DICE has fallen and why so many amazing developers left the company after Battlefield V launched. Mainly the single-player developers. What you are seeing now is the biproduct of new developers coming into the franchise and reinventing the wheel to their own tastes and likes. They choose not to care but they want you to believe that they do indeed care and this is what you get going forward. The creative passion is gone and the time for constructive criticism is over because its no longer viable. Its time you stand shoulder to shoulder and do what's best for yourselves. I will not tell you what is best and or try and sway your opinion about this game.

Great read nonetheless.

@NazT55So what exactly are you trying to point out with this thread?
Everything there is already known and documented.
For those lazy enough to read here is TLDR
Battlefield 5 was bad and got canceled
Many devs left
BF2042 was developed by a bunch of new and inexperienced devs with different fews.
The end.
Crying about it for the 100th time won't change anything.
Yes BF2042 was a disaster. But they're doing whatever they can to fix everything. And to their credit, they have done ALOT to turn this game into an acceptable Battlefield title.
I'm certainly having a good time in this game and with season 4 and season 5 coming + class re-work coming in a matter of days keeps me excited for this game.
Saying that constructive criticism is no longer viable is an outright lie.
The entire post-launch life of BF2042 is being driven by the community. In almost every patch they're fixing/changing parts of the game according to community feedback.
From menu UI, to a heads-up display, to specialis balance to gadget balance, to the entire map and now classes rework. Everything is being suggested by the community.

Love him or hate him Tom Henderson probably has the best sourced take on the BF2042 launch.

Good take, 2042 may have been disaster at launch, but I have to give them credit for listening to feedbacks from community to make it better. I think there are features in the game, such as adding server browsers, that should seriously be considered in bringing back (or at least give players the option to use server browser for games staple mode, AOW)...but I for one, will say the developers are doing a good job in fixing the game to have brought it to where its currently at..hope this good work continues on, as I am starting to see some potential

If they are indeed listening, and they don't mind constructive criticism, then for goodness sake give us MORE maps, and I don't mean re-worked same ones either.
Heres a really weird idea. Come out with a map pack of at least a dozen maps.
That would give us much more variety and keep the game going not to mention more interesting, it's bad enough that a New game gives Less destructive buildings etc.

You said it much nicer than I would have, well done..

BF2042 has been sadly lacking on the map front compared to previous BF's.
I really miss the 4 map DLC's we used to get in previous BF'.

When BF2042 launched it was bad - way too open maps - constant spotted - no cover etc. Now today after many many updates - I like playing it - I play it as often as I can. There is a learning curve in this game compared to previous BF titles. You cannot run like Rambo into everything and expect to get out in one piece. You need to think how to play - reflexes is not enough here.
Vehicles is way too op'ed - but again way too many have launchers - so curious about new update coming about class'es and all that + the javelin coming back to game.
So again - comparing game at launch vs today - way way better. And in this game we at least have cheat protect - it's rare when you encounter one that really cheat - not as over at BF 5 - here it is winning lottery to get in game without one.
What I would like - lower ping limits on servers - more dedicated pc player servers - crossplay is way to laggy for some reason at my end.
But all in all - I really like this game now !
New name, new look, same great benefits: EA Access and Origin Access are now EA Play.
