Is there a way to force the EA app open in offline mode?

You have to go ONLINE first to play OFFLINE via this app. This is asinine. I travel quite a bit and I'm not paying the airline for wifi in order to play a game on a flight where I am required to use Airplane mode.

Exceptionally poor planning and design, not to mention exclusionary and disenfranchising, EA.

I did not even know this could become an issue xD.

I have always played all my games with an enabled Internet connection. Now that i have moved and am currently in the process of changing Internet providers and having no internet this seriously sucks donkey balls...

Agreed.  This is damn ludicrous and after all this time,  it looks like a deliberate hobbling of customers right to run their software offline. 

Honestly think a class action is appropriate at this point.  Shameful of them.

I've just had this issue too.  I had to set my phone as a mobile hotspot to get online, to tell the EA app to go Offline.  Bloody ridiculous!!! If I hadn't had my phone I'd have been screwed :-(

@EA_Leeuw It was almost a year, and it still hasn't been fixed. Why you won't let me play games I paid for? What is wrong with you?

No, it is in fact not  possible to use Origin instead of the EA App. Because every time the launcher is opened, it brings up a box which cannot be closed requesting me to move to the EA App. At least *try* to be aware of the issues the community faces

Yes i cant play my games unless theres a START EA APP IN OFFLINE MODE. Like STEAM and Ubilauncher has. I need a START EA APP EXCLUSIVELY IN OFFLINE ONLY MODE.

So...will this ever be fixed? I recently lost internet and was speechless to discover that offline play is not possible on the EA app. Why force us to use it if a very important feature like offline play, simply does not exist? 

What we have now is not offline play.
