Main game is Battlefield 2042, and time to time I turn on my old-favorite Battlefield 4, but mostly it's now BF2042, some Elden Rings, and Forza Horizon.

Battlefield veteran btw, this time I wanted to be 101% Battlefield 2042 completionist, and sadly I picked the wrong monetization decade.

Me personally hate any kinda of monetizations on games, and even much more on paid games.

Sure Battlefield 2042 isn't bad as Fifa 22 in terms of loot boxes, or like Diablo Immortal.. but I would most definitely prefer to spend 0€ for 60€+ game, free 2 play game like Fortnite or Apex I'm nothing against it.

But that's how it is these days, they have smart guys making Battle Passes confusing, makes you sad if you miss something to unlock, or anything in that style.

People like to have dopamine rush, that's why I'm asking these questions, should we accept these monetizations or should we try to save the gaming industry?

Personally I think anyone who buys cosmetics has lost their mind, and I'll happily accept their money instead =] as they clearly don't want it.

I do wonder if any of this survives inflation though.

Now I understand who paid for the EA/DICE staff's xmas vacation and why they thought no more work remained to be done to this game upon their return to just meet the bare minimum viable product for their customers...

Need to let that sink in for a moment...

As I think that I still miss a lot of content to my BF2042 product to make that just 'a reasonable buy', which I bought for 99€.

So to answer your question, then my answer is YES !

Compared to what we have gotten so far, then I consider BF2042 to be an expensive game!

It's a AAA price tag alright.

But so far, what we have gotten is beta stage access to a AA-class game...

EA is getting no more money from me until they have delivered on the basics for a AAA FPS game.
