Intresting article on Kotaku about cheating in Fortnite and Apex

★ Guide

The TL;DR of the article is Fortnite is able to detect cheaters and stop much MUCH better than Apex can, and Fortnite started suing the people who sell cheats and scared them away.

This is the most intresting bit in the article:

"One cheat-maker, who would only go by the name “Dev,” was working on what he called “Fortnite stuff” before Apex Legends hit the market. “Suspicious Fortnite stuff,” he clarified over a Discord voice call. Over time, he explained, advances in Fortnite’s security software made cheating very difficult and easily detectable. Fortnite’s developer also began sueing cheat-makers, which scared a lot of them off. He says that’s why he, and several other cheat-makers, moved onto Apex Legends, which he says is much easier and more lucrative to develop cheats for."

Excellent article. All the top gaming companies like Blizzard for example also sued developers, even if they lived across the world. If respawn starts doing this, it will definitely help.

Respawn is just a puppet company under EA's strings now, they aren't going to do anything. Swallow that redpill.

There is a guy on YT who has been streaming for weeks advertising and selling his hacks while he uses them. Not only does he claim that his cheats are undetectable he advised to keep coming back to his channel to see how he won’t be banned. He also said if anyone does get banned he has HWID spoofers and new accounts to sell and continue on with.

His YT chat was also being moderated with people defending him and deleting negative comments lol. This is a legit and lucrative business for him.

So while EA/Respawn sit around and twiddle their thumbs, loyal & legit players are disappearing faster than a Thanos snap.

People who sell cheats are not trustworthy. You should not trust their claims.

Well who's claim's should we believe? the hacker maker that shows his hack working in the game or respawn that says they are stopping hackers that you can clearly see playing in game?

They cheat. They get banned. They cheat again etc. Are they telling you that? No. Why not? Because they want you to believe you can get away with cheating. It's a lie, you cannot trust them.

The fact is that EAC has been extremely successful but some players are determined to cheat:

  • The recently added in-game reporting tool has had a big impact on discovering new cheats, including previously undetectable cheats that are now being found automatically via EAC

  • Total bans are now at 770K players

  • We have blocked over 300K account creations

  • We have banned over 4,000 cheat seller accounts (spammers) in the last 20 days

  • Total affected matches on PC impacted by cheaters or spammers has been reduced by over half in the last month due to recent efforts

Source.

Look here defender of EA/Respawn. Sure their recent updates did something, I felt it for a couple of days, but then afterwards it's like they didn't do anything. So unless they start doing drastic * to quell hackers like how fornite does it, they're gonna keep keep losing players to cheaters and will be seeing more players turning to cheats. A vast majority of the people even think the report system is a joke unless you spam it with friends and the replies of EA employees here that they're taking the reports seriously is laughable.

@warslag

I have to admit, you're starting to look like a BOT on the forum, and it's starting to get annoying!

Now I'm not trying to give you a hard time, but if you are not working for EA, then really please knock off all the EA Announcements and how to stop cheaters etc...

Let EA/Respawn do their job, if you're a Forum Member like the rest of us here, then PLEASE start acting like one!

You don't work for EA, your not a MOD, or the Forum Police! So start acting like a member and start talking more like a real person, rather then copying and pasting the same things over.

Yes I believe the Stats EA is showing us on banning cheaters, but has it stopped the cheating problem? NO

So while there's been something done, the issue is really still out of hand!

PEACE
