How can I make the EA App launch library tab by default? [ Edited ]

Hello,

In the old Origin app I could select the option to launch the Origin app Library by default. But here as you can see the Library tab does not open by default and there's no settings within the application.

Instead it is the Home tab with the store that launches in the background. I would like only the Library to open when launching the EA App like how it was before with Origin. Even Steam lets me open the Library by default.

Any help will be appreciated.

@BLaZiNgSPEED Currently there is no way to change the default screen tab in the EA App as there was in Origin. The team is constantly taking feedback like this for players to have a better experience. I myself really liked changing that tab when I logged in as well. 

As of now though, any changes that they make to this would be under settings - application settings if or when it gets implemented into the App.

@EA_ShepardWell in that case you should pass on this feedback to the EA App developers!

I am also seeing constant network activity when logged on with the EA App, something that I have never observed previously with the Origin App, Steam, GOG, Ubisoft Connect or Epic Games. Along with a WMI Activity error being triggered when launching this app.

I will be discouraged from purchasing any future games under this current app until it is rectified in a future update. From all apps currently, this is right now the worst app and the only app that doesn't allow you to launch the Library by default. I have never previously complained when I had the Origin app or with any other download services.

I have not bought any EA game in recent years, not even FIFA since 17 version. With this version, I will refrain from future purchases unless the game was really special for me to sacrifice using a broken application.

I would also like to set what I see when the EA program opens. Either Library, or the last game I played would be nice. I see we've been waiting for this feature for a while!

Agreed! It was a feature in Origin, it should be here too, it's been long enough. Clearly an easy update would fix it.

Honestly, I'm sure it's done on purpose, to force you to look at the home screen and see all the "stuff to buy". The problem with that is (as BLaZiNgSPEED said) it makes me decide to NOT use the EA app, so not only do I not see the adds anyway but  I also choose to purchase games elsewhere.

Companies do not want you to bypass their marketing. It is a nasty habit from most companies that they feel their self interest comes first and over the customer wants. That is why when I come across something like this I do not buy from that company again. By going to your library you do not allow them to push some new product to you. They feel you should not have the option to buy what and when you choose. Therefore, I make my vote by not buying from them again.

Yeah. Googled to see if it was possible, but I assume it was not.

Rather than make a convenient platform, they prioritize selling you things.

Maybe EA should listen to the people, since the EA Desktop App is such a failure... maybe time they should pivot from their current $$$ first strategy, and put the users first.

LOL I'm talking about EA here... They're going to focus on $$$ over everything else.

Makes more sense to just run the game through Playnite or launch from Steam. Do whatever to bypasss EA Desktop App as much as possible.

Pleased someone said use Steam - I didnt know it would fire up the game and leave the horror that is the EA app minimised.

Now that I do, I'll be launching Battlefield 2042 from within Steam from now on.  At least unil they include the Start in Library option. No point asking the develpers the bean counters won't allow it.

Let's face, it they dont have many titles to chose from in total and list all the add-ons seperately to make it look better.

Off topic:  And they've turned the only title I liked (once brilliant) into a pathetic 'Bouncy-Bouncy Pew-Pew' noob-fest of pre-teens, with less than 0 interest in playing Conquest as it should be, or in the game in general.   "You too can look like Woody from Toy Story!" (shakes head sadly) how low Battlefield has dropped...
