Hey a new funny true story about WW2
A few days after D-Day, the supply of Allied troops with vital supplies had become a real logistical problem.
If you got ammunition, food, clothes, etc., it was good enough, but good beer there.
It was then that some pilots of the Royal Air Force had the brilliant idea of replacing the bombs of a Spitfire with barrels of beer.
Thus, the pilot of the Spitfire equipped with these barrel carriers was often sent back to England for maintenance or other functions, he took advantage of the passage to fill the barrels with beer. They then returned to Normandy with full barrels of beer mounted under the wings.
Every week a pilot was sent back to England and if he were unfortunate enough to lose a barrel in the air or destroy one on landing, he would be the squatter's most hated man for an entire week.
Moreover, if the pilot flew high enough, the cold air at altitude refreshed the beer, making it ready for consumption on arrival.
A variant of this method was a fuel tank, modified to transport beer instead of fuel.
