Control is really great area for you to get good fast. You might die a ton, but you respawn quickly and can find action quickly. You also don't have the frustration of having loot up and then start from square 1 again if you get eliminated early. Just die and respawn back in.. Practice with the more meta guns. CAR, 99, 301, flatline and the like.. It's a great place to get a ton of practice in.
