Re: Helicopter vs. Infantry or Light Armored Vehicle

It's not for me, its for you. To learn how many AA weapons there are in this game, so people would stop braging for more. If you are lazy to bring them up, means you don't know also means lazy to learn them. That's my point here. CAUSE "Previous bf had that" but not counting in what PREVIOUS bf didn't have.

Map of how i see and have encountered AA daily basis (This specific positioning and AA level is medium, there might be 50% more infantry AA and that gets toxic asf). Also adding. (RPG&M5, shot outs, light vehicles and AIR can be in random places trough the match.) AND these all dots move.

FORGOT: Purple is RAM. Just an example of basic route.

What previous bf didn't have was:

Light of speed rockets (stinger and m5/rpg.) If you stay still, flares does not decline heatseeker. <-- Small addons.

Ground TV and most vehicles with AA option.

Quantity of AA options doesn't translate into increased AA effectiveness.  

DICE has probably doubled the number of infantry gun options since launch.  I don't believe we're any more effective at killing each other.

Also a focus on raw AA options discounts other factors.   Ammo availability?  How effective or counter-able those options are?  (And I'm not even on board with the notion that BF2042 has more AA options than past games).

The Battlefield series has never been known for air balance.  BFV didn't even get an AA launcher until well after launch.  

Lastly - your 'lazy' argument.  People play Battlefield for entertainment, not to do digital chores.  AA is not an enjoyable playstyle.  It's a chore.  The lack of people consistently using the AA options isn't due to laziness, it's due to prioritizing other - more entertaining - playstyles over AA.

@Man_iLoveFishingThe majority of the players are going to be on the ground playing infantry... there's only so many vehicles. So the focus should be primarily on infantry and balancing around that.

Your response to AngrySquid270 is the same tired excuse. It takes how many players to take down one single air vehicle? Then you're saying they all need to coordinate in order to be effective taking down one vehicle that is manned by one person. How is that balanced? The tools needed to fight air vehicles are inadequate. Even vehicles like the Wildcat, with it's sole purpose of existing is to be anti-air, is trash.

I left the game quite a while ago at this point, and definitely not coming back, nor will I buying the next BF, a big reason for that is the lack of balancing around air vehicles. The difference between someone like you and I, is that I know when something is busted. When they released the Rorsch, it was obvious that it was too strong. It quickly became my favorite weapon, but that doesn't mean I need to be delusional about it. Sure, it takes some skill to go off with it, but the more honest answer is that it simply needed to be balanced.

You are NOT special, the game is just not balanced properly. Drop the thousands of hours on helicopter bit. That's not why you, or anyone else can do well with it. Stop being delusional.

@RaginSamoh dear, i'm not saying i'm special. You can take helo and kill other helo, needs one player. You can take lizz and kill most aircrafts, needs one hit = one person. Why the heck you think infantry are any more special? Your kind balance is that every one could 1v1 mass murderer vehicle.

DICEs rules for balance in 2042 has pretty much been the following, since day 1:

1. DO NOT NERF AIR VEHICLES EVER
2. If an infantry weapon is OP - nerf it in the next available patch
3. If a patch breaks or nerfs an infantry weapon too much - ignore it
4. When a new infantry weapon is released, make it OP, wait for it to become META to bring in more players, then nerf it in the next patch.
5. If a ground vehicle is OP - nerf it in the next season
6. If a patch breaks or nerfs a ground vehicle too much, buff an air vehicle, or add more defensive counter measure to it.
7. If an air vehicle is OP - ignore it completely until the very last patch in the game's development
8. Buff at least one air vehicle with each patch
9. If a patch breaks or nerfs an air vehicle by mistake - fix it with an emergency patch the very next week.

Think that is printed on the walls somewhere at DICE....

I don't understand. If you are not playing, why bother wasting my time? You are trying to get point straight without even giving a try. "I don't have to, look up internet, job done for us". I mean, "look, thousands of videos with nightbird" tried with specific weapon youtube search? I bet, thousands of videos will come up. Tried any other vehicle". Try youtubing tgm kills. You get tens of thousands. And these nightbird videos are successful videos, means weak AA and why would anyone upload failed attempts? Look for streams.

This thread can be closed since its not going anywhere. Arguing with people that are not players makes no sense. And i'm offering to play with me or with any other buddy to just show, what it actually is. I can go on ground with you and see how what's your actual suffer.

I am convinced by this topic that "there is a lack of anti-aircraft guns in this game." You seem to be arguing whether NBs are OP or not, but I think the lack of sufficient countermeasures makes them more of a threat. A light helicopter like that should be able to be shot down with weapons mounted on a light armored vehicle.

thats not true, skill is needed to use the AA options properly

its the same like infantry vs. infantry. no more countermeasures needed vs nightbird. rather learning how to use the ones available, or in general learn how to counter helos from the ground. its pretty easy actually.

when theres a good pilot on the enemy team, take aircraft, learn aircraft. even if the enemy pilot is better. he can be annoyed and prevented from his devastating effect on the game

 @Gurz1019_MP well thats also not true. aircraft can be shot down or damaged badly by TGM from Lis, as you mentioned it can be stingered by all engineers except lis, it can be hacked by rao, which disables it and makes it hard to maneuver, the rao hack also provides a fast lock on for every rocket launcher and the stinger. aircraft can be shot down with the sraw from engineers. finally it can be shot down by a single rocket from infantry rocket launchers namely m5 and rpg, which isnt that hard if the aircraft is close to you, especially when its unaware of your position. though uncommon and difficult but perfectly possible is also mining or c5ing aircraft when parachuting.

lises tgm proves here to be the most accurate and successful option

as well as the rao hack is pretty useful

the combined infantry AA options + the AA capabilities from ground vehicles and finally enemy aircraft provide enough counter options

the measures will be only effective if played well

Hmm...I'm by no means certain, but I think an underbarrel launcher might be able to destroy one (if a medic has one equipped and the NB is close enough). 

@Gurz1019_MPwhat I mean with played well is for example u wait until the enemy helo is hovering, especially when its fighting another helo, the helos have to be pretty much still in order to fight each other and they will fight each other to prevent dying. thats when to shoot the lis tgm at it. ur mate in the helo will be thankful
