This is insane from EA not going to lie. All I want to do is run the game offline with mods, and yet I can't even after reinstalling the game, clearing my cache, and verifying game files through steam. I would literally be able to run the game fine if I didn't have to go through EA and instead could just run it with steam. Absolutely horrible from them. Mind you I can run the game fine online with no mods which should show that my game license if fine. However, after switching the client to offline it gives me the same error 205 that my game license has expired. The most horrible game and client experience I have ever seen.

I understand how you feel, but that isn't going to happen. It's an EA game, not Steam. Simply you bought the game via Steam. Steam itself cannot add any extra game file fuctionality than the EA app does, as its on the EA app.
Best, to buy on the launcher that owns the game. Two launchers one game. The amount of problems I seen this cause by reading posts, and once myself over two years ago is a lot.
I stopped that practice, so EA games, purchased through EA app only. No extra launcher involved. Since doing that over two years ago I have had not one problem, and can easily "repair," which is the same as Steams "verify," every game.
Worth considering in future.

I'm having the same problem. I would love to know why the error code suggests relaunching the game in online mode when I'm already online. I've checked my internet connection and I restarted my modem. Maybe i'm taking the error code too literally, but this is driving me nuts. I just want to play the game I've spent so much money on.

A lot of people have reported the same. I think you can take it literally.
If you have time search in the EA app section. EA-Illium provides answers for
loads of stuff. Good luck. Oh and EA-Barry too.

@gg1301No, I don't have any updates. I've tried everything suggested and still nothing. I'm to the point of giving up on the game and EA as a company. And will never pay or support them again. Especially if this is how they treat paying customers. I've been playing this sims since it first came out. And I'm talking about Sims 1. So I have spent have spent a lot of money supporting this game and it's just disappointing.

Really sorry to here that. I am out of ideas. For what it's worth, good luck.
You have been pretty patient, and I'd feel the same way as you.

Still nothing. I think it may have to do with origin. I only ever purchased the sims games and one other game through origin. I checked , the other game is also giving me Game license invalid error.

Sorry to hear that. All I can say is good luck and give you XP which may cheer you up just a tiny bit.

Another month bites the dust and still no help from one of the worst companies in the world. Don't waste your money and ever buy from EA. They don't care about their customers, only how much money they can take from them.
New name, new look, same great benefits: EA Access and Origin Access are now EA Play.
