Exits to desktop at end of mission 4 or starting fleet battle tutorial

Game exits to desktop when you complete the 4th mission where you steal a star destroyer and at the start of the fleet battle tutorial.  I am running the game with SteamVR.  No error message appear, game just simply exits.

Game exits occurs everytime. Rebooting does not help.

Found the issue and the solution.  In the in-game graphics settings there is an option for VR volumetrics.  My system had everything set to Ultra.  I had to set it to custom and knock VR volumetrics down from Ultra to High. Now it all works flawlessly.
