@NightfallfilmsThe problem is that EA (and therefore DICE) are not listening in the slightest. All you have to do is look at the Santa skin to see just how uninterested they are in what their OG player base says.
Everyone in their "key players" or whatever they are called, told them it was a bad idea that did not fit Battlefield and they STILL went with it. The fact that it "feels" like BF (I thought it had BF bones initially as well) is a result of them slapping it on top of their battle royal surface giving an appearance of BF. The specialist system is also a reflection of this trend chase and will continue to be a problem unless they make their specialists classes and bring it back in line with the proven system. They can still sell their macrotransaction skins and we can get our teamplay back (assuming VOIP, squad joining/leaving/kick, squads of 5/6, server lists, and scoreboard come back). I say scoreboard in that grouping because IIRC, you can see what each person's class is and you can assess where your team is lacking roles and can supplement or shift as the competing team changes their tactics.
I agree with a lot of what you said when it comes to the features that should have been in the game from the beginning, no excuse to not have them and my hope is that they will be added in the future. I personally believe the game should have been delayed, but with that being said I am still having fun playing it in its current state with my friends.
I still disagree with the specialist and team play though, I still feel that a person is either going to play as a team or not based on their own choice. I like the flexibility of the specialist and most times try and compliment or change things up if I feel my squad is in need of a specific specialty. I do believe they should have made specific specialist for each faction, but of course that would cause a lot more work to make sure they are balanced unless they have the same abilities just with different names and skins.

@NightfallfilmsThat's fair if it is scratching your Battlefield itch, that just comes down to what works for either of us may be a bit different. While I do agree that it is the people that make the team, I have noticed a complete difference between BF2's teamwork and BF2042's "teamwork." There might have been one dude that would just join a team for an easy spawn location option but then go off and snipe somewhere not useful, but they were far and few in between. Most of the randos I played with would see where their teammates were and would congregate and coordinate more fervently since they were dependent upon each other. In the case of 2042, it's just one man armies running around randomly without much drive to stick together as they can basically do everything themselves.

I will have to respectfully disagree with the team work based on my own experiences not that my own makes yours invalid maybe you were just lucky in the other BF games with who you got on your team. Team work has always been hit or miss in every BF game I have played and I have played them all except BF 2142. Its basically luck of the draw unless you are playing together with a group of people.
New name, new look, same great benefits: EA Access and Origin Access are now EA Play.
