Agree, first one to pull that off with acceptable latency will change the whole market. But that is many many years into the future, at least for a FPS game.

I don't think so.

The game list has some AAA FPS Multiplayer games in it starting November

And for people who want to check if you can play, EA games on stadEA here's a speed test link.

I think I should start to charge money from EA/Google for all my free advertising...

@SebastianYarric

It is interesting for sure, but I won’t be first mover. Eventually this will mature and developers will stop making games that run locally on the customers pc. Not because of cheaters but because it’s cheaper and easier to maintain in one place.

Additionally it wont require players to have super expensive hardware. When that happens the market will shift and latency and fps will not be something we get to control.

I’m looking forward to it 🤗

@SebastianYarricLol, dont be so naive.

It might be possible in the next 5-7 years. Game as a service focus on casual gamer market.
The games that work are those AAA graphic intensive, singleplayer games.
For competitive gaming on a web browser? Not now.
There are more than 3 times i heard about those promises from such services. Most of them already closed or went bankrupt.

Of course, Google wont go bankrupt, it's even a fantastic service, but competitive gaming on  web browser is still something in the far future.

@d3adc3II

Have you tryed the beta of stadia when it was out?

Im still in high hopes to see it work.

The reason im still hoping it works is the existence of MMORPGs and hit em up button smasher.

So i guess it all come down to how fast your Internet is.

Ok not everyonee will have a 400Mbit/s connection like me but i think the service can be used with a lower connection rate of 35Mbit/s too.

In the end It all depends on the data-centers and your own connection speed.

I shall be the naive one and dream on for the both of us then.

Watching this one remind me of this topic.

Input lag of the current cloud gaming services. As you can see,  the input difference is huge. I don't expect Stadia make a wonder here, espcially when you run it through Chrome.

For casual, it will work. But I rather spend $$$ for Xbox gameplan and play the games on my own PC. It's $5/month now Standard smile
