i have this same problem where it asks me to sign out did you ever figure out the problem?

Okay, but I have the same problem, xbox game pass ultimate, you cannot even install ea desktop, from xbox app it says it is not working, download it from here (link) I downloaded it, and started the installer. It would just load indefinetly and loop itself on my  active apps, like with each clicks. Loop, but not working really (I just killed five of them in task manager.)

So what do I do in this case? I don't get to removing cache, or reinstall. I cannot even install. I paid for xbox pass ultimate just to be able to play with ea games, so... I am upset.

Could be permission based or a program in the background blocking it from launching.

Can you try a clean boot and then immediately launch EA Desktop as Administrator before opening up anything else on your PC?
