Does Battlefield V's friendly game economy give hope for Anthem?

Let's face it, the storm in the wake of Star Wars Battlefront II was pretty intense.

Does the game and game economy direction for Battlefield V:

  • No Premium Pass
  • Cosmetic only microtransactions
  • No pay to win
  • Single player campaign
  • 4 person Co-op

Give you some reassurance that Anthem's game economy will be sensible?

★★★★ Guide

Yeah this new direction is very surprising but in a good way.

And for skeptics like myself the added bonus is that we get to see this game go live well before Anthem so we can actually see if EA are true to their words before making purchasing decisions on Anthem.

It's no guarantee with regards to Anthem of course but I find this very encouraging especially if Battlefield V is successful, which means the business model is viable for EA.

Particularly interesting is Battlefield V's 4 person co-op which I imagine could be mechanically very similar to what Anthem will do.

Similarities in matchmaking processes might be interesting.

Yes, that trailer if you look hard enough shows off amazing PVP features. They showed a teaser trailer with the Frostbite engine and it looked great. No season pass, no microtransaction for gear only cosmetics. I'm still going to hold my breath and not drool.

yes.  I think the big parent companies have learned their lesson from 2017.  Would Fortnite be so huge right now if Destiny 2 hadn't flopped?  .  Now i am hearing good things about Battlefield V.  2018 is looking like the year that the corporate greed is going to be brought into check.

-We won't believe it just because you tell us.  You must show us.

-You(EA) need to earn our trust and money, again.

-A hollow PVP FPS experience is NOT enough.  We need story and progression and a game that last more than 6 months

★★★ Apprentice

Anthem will need to compete with upcoming or current similar business models and its pretty clear what direction Battlefield V is taking, I'd say Anthem's future looks promising.
