do i need to complete all challenges and find all letters in order to get the melee weapons and most importantly the badges?

You only need to complete the stories for the medals but will need to collect all letters and complete all challenges for the online melee weapons.

You're able to do all the extra stuff on easy mode, and it all saves instantly so you can can duck out right away
