Character Variants

★★★★ Novice

I’ve been playing this series now since the very early days of the original. Those were the days.

My my biggest problem is no character variations. It isn’t the same.

The turf maps maps are the second problem. They feel formulated and almost identical. There was a real effort to funnel characters in a smaller space.

My third issue is the cost of the orbs at 30k, and for emotes? I really wanted to binge this, but I’m finding it hard to do so.

If if the game launch doesn’t have

variants, I’m probably going back to gw2

It won't and i agree with you. The new perks are a very very sad replacement and aren't fun or interesting at all.

There seems to be a true mix of those who like not having variants and those of us that loved them. I still need to unlock a lot of the perks but I don't know the base characters are too bland.

There will be no variants like GW2.  Good bye.

@Hue_Jahs I feel if they adjusted the price and/or amount of points we have then the Upgrade system could work well. They need to balance the upgrades as well as some are just... not useful right now.

The theme of variants returns! Time to dig out my old concept posts!

You know, I'm tired of EA not replying. I like the perks system, but there are not enough perks. They could even make perks to emulate character variants. For design space, there would be 8 upgrade points and 15 promotional levels, with faster experience earning.

Sample variants:

Vampire Flower: Sunflower's primary weapon heals 60% of the damage it deals. Damage is increased, but so is dropoff. Unlocks at Elite I, costs 5 upgrade points.

Flame Brainz: Super Brainz attacks slower, but lights enemies on fire. Unlocks at Specialist II, costs 4 upgrade points.

S.H.R.imp: Imp shoots and reloads faster. Unlocks at Super Elite I, costs 3 upgrade points.

Mob Cob: Kernal Corn's shots become piercing. Unlocks at Advanced III, costs 2 upgrade points.

Please do some of these EA, and fix your game first. We don't want a game broken even more.

Another suggestion: set up servers WITHOUT the new upgrades in addition to servers with, so players who don't want to playtest don't have to.

Re: Character Variants

★★★ Newbie

In my opinion, when i played GW1 and GW2 i loved the game, principally the variants between the characters, those variants were undoubtedly the funniest part of the game, however when i played BFN i was so disconcerted at not seeing variants, if the game continues without having any variants in the characters i´ll return to GW2.

@Papi_Rico_2004  Variants will not be appearing in BFN at any point, because they are replaced with the variety of character upgrades instead. Sorry about thatOops!

★★★ Pro

I think they plan to replace the feeling of variants with even more characters, which i would prefer more. (Such as the "magical new character" coming in march)
