Can I install Sims 4 on my childs account?

★★★★★ Newbie

Hi

I tried to make an account for my child (aged 8) on the web - couldn't be done.

Used my own account, bought Sims 4 and installed Origin.

Then in Origin I could create an account for my child and it worked. But Sims 4 could not be installed in my childs account (asked for product code - which was not available in my receipt)

So I tried to install Sims 4 and managed to do so in my own account - but that leaves me with my child not being able to play

What should I do now? Can I transfer Sims 4 to my child - can I purchase it again? Can I get a refund?

(I'm working with IT in my daytime-job ... but can't find my way around Origin)

BR

Alex

@Crasher_DK  You can't install your copy of Sims 4 on your child's account; Origin doesn't support family sharing, and the game is tied to your account now.  Even if you had a product code, it couldn't be used a second time.

Normally, the only way to add a game to a child account is to buy a code or a physical copy in a store and register it in the child account.  However, you may be able to convince EA customer support to transfer the game for you.  Even though it's not normally allowed, support often makes exceptions in cases like this where the parent intended to buy a game for the child.

If support won't transfer the game, then yes, you can request a refund instead, either through support itself or through EA's automatic refund mechanism.
