Could you potentially bring the plane disabled feature back from BF1?
What is becoming more and more popular these days are people who go on dire in planes will simply dive bomb into the ground and the person who spent the time taking them down get nothing.
This is very frustrating as some games you can't even make up for it in ground strafes as the person abusing the mechanic repeatedly spawns in and comes after you and so you have no choice but to engage.
Also if someone decides to dive bomb or bail out of bounds, can their death count towards the last persons kill count who shot them. This may deter people from wasting vehicles and players game time as the 'trolls' would get nothing out of it
