Bodyshot damage reduction

Sooo... this may sound like a weird question but is there any way to reduce damage received on bodyshots? Because I've been using the Wingman and it's supposed to do 45 damage on a bodyshot but the numbers that pop up when you hit showed 41 for some enemies. I've not seen anyone talking about it so I was curious if I'm going crazy or what.
