Anthem legendary item lost in freeplay due to full bag

Upon completing my challenge of valor freeplay world events a legendary item dropped from one of the chests when my bag was full. It was my understanding that masterwork or higher loot would be sent to me once I ended expedition regardless of bag space but this experience has shown me otherwise. Is there any fix or retrieve the item? Perhaps something I'm overlooking? I've already check my inventory several times but there is nothing new.

Loot should usually be sent to your vault.

That's a problem if there is no room there.

Did you try to go out into freeplay again, and return immediately? If not, I'd give it a try. Maybe you'll get the item then.

Otherwise, I'd write a bug report.

Keeping my fingers crossed you'll get your item back!

Tried everything and nope not in vault forge or mail.

Next time open your freeplay bag and drop something you don't want. (this should be a thing)

That trick only works when you have connection issues. not when your bag is full.

@UrikanePhoenix it’s actually false that MW and legendary automatically go to inventory (as you found out).

This is unfortunate. Also, if there’s going to be a cap on the backpack size while in freeplay, players should be able to drop items.

This isn’t a revolutionary option. Some of BioWare’s design choices make me wonder if they’ve ever seen anything in this genre...

well odds are it would of been junk anyway so just assume you got some bad luck out of the way!

you should have it because i had a few times that i finished a stronghold and in the forge saw that my space was over the limiet (253/250)
the system told me to make space or i couldnt do any stronghold , missions or freeplay anymore.
so you should have it.
or maybe it was a legendary ember instead of item i dont know.

I ran into this exact issue the other day. It gave it to me on the expedition screen
