Account transfer?

Why are we unable to transfer accounts but also unable to be in the same club across platforms? Is it just a greedy money grubbing thing because it seems like all our accounts are already linked via ea so i fail to see how tying in cross progression would be that difficult. This is what makes me refuse to spend money on the game lol
