my sims 4 family has disappeared

I saved the game and also backed up my sims family I made in my library.

Due to an issue with my computer I had to get it fixed. So when I got on to play sims 4 non of my saved information was there.

What has happened?

As part of the repair your computer was likely reset so you have nothing left that you had not backed up. You should learn to take periodic backups so you can restore them if something happens to the computer.

If you save households or lots to your private spot, i.e. the tab on top of the gallery with your id on it. Then the files live in your documents folder. Location is dociments/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/tray. In this case they are gone along with the rest of your documents. But you can also save them the gallery. In that case they are found in the online gallery attached to your account. Then they should be accessible. Where did you save them?
