Unable to play guitar

My sim is a music lover. When i click on a guitar there is no option to play or practice.I can hire a guitarist (?) or put in inventory but can't play. I have other instruments in the house and they all work fine, but I can't pick up a guitar.

Is your sim a child? Or do you have any mods in your game?
Children can play piano and violin but not guitar (for some reason).

And it needs to be a kids violin.

No it's adults. I've tried it with all my adults in the house (8) and it doesn't let me play it. I do have mods, but I have taken out all music related mods. Could it be something else ? Thank you for replying.

It could easily be one of the other mods so remove all and test.
