@brutallymle, if you have the Parenthood GP then there is similar gameplay.  But instead of it being based on fulfilling whims, it is based on other gameplay mechanics like not making messes or whether they throw a temper tantrum or not.  You can also teach them manners one-on-one.  I realize you might have wanted more immediate results, but these aspects can be learned while being a toddler, a child, or a teen (by doing various things or avoiding doing various things , depending on age).  I don't think they would add something similar when they already have that type of gameplay in Parenthood.
