Did they remove Flirty Autonomy with friends/strangers???

Haven't played Sims 4 in months and just got back on on, noticing a few changes unless I'm wrong??? Previously my Sims done whatever they wanted and often cheated on their lover. They would even have whims on flirting with someone who was just a friend or practically a stranger to them. lol!
Now that I'm playing again; my Sims don't automatically start flirting for no reason (regardless of the romantic trait/flirty mood) and no longer even think about flirting with friends in their whims. 
Can I just have some confirmation if the devs removed automatic flirting??? It'll be cool if they did as I wouldn't have to constantly make sure my Sim's story doesn't go directions I don't want them to and I as the player get to choose which Sim my characters fall for in their stories.
Any info on this would be awesome!
