What is needed for Madden 24 to be great again

★ Guide

What does Madden 24 need to improve on?

Franchise Mode similar to NBA 2k

Be able to have CPU vs CPU in Franchise mode

Better animations on offense and defense

Expansion Teams

Graphics are fine

PLAY EVER GAME IN FRANCHISE MODE including games your team is not playing in.  I want to play every game CPU vs CPU game in week 1, 2, etc

What does everyone else want in Madden 24?

A working game would be a great start.  I’m in year 3 of a FotF and I can’t play it because of the update.  EA’s response to just start another franchise is not acceptable.  Make a working product!

I’d wish they’d focus more on franchise mode.  I don’t care about MUT.  I wish they could figure out compensatory picks.  I draft guys and trade them after 3 years if I don’t plan on resigning them.  I’d so like to see improvements on hiring coaches.  Unless the coach is a retread, I don’t know who would be considered a good coach.  Give them a back story like a young and upcoming coach or we’ll respected coordinator.  Do press conferences for coaches, owners, and players.  Also need to improve scouting to make it easier to find “stars.”

It would be nice to clearly see standings in Franchise too.

  1. Madden Franchise Mode players deserve better
  2. 1. Better Scouting player comparison Example when I’m scouting a QB who does he compare to, Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Micheal Vick, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and so on. Same for other positions.
    2. Real Coaching staffs, players who retire have the ability to become an offensive or defensive coordinator, then head coach
    3. Player Roles such as Franchise QB, Featured Back, Game Manager, Return Specialist, Deep Threat Receiver,  Fan Favorite, Draft Bust, The Future, Sack Specialists and so on.
    4. New commentary teams. We are tired of hearing the same lines year after year. A fresh voice is needed.
    5. Better physics and gameplay. Get rid of the current engine.
    6. Better stat tracking in franchise mode. Such as W/L record for starting QB, career 300 and 400 yard passing games, 4 and 5 TD PASS games, career 100-200 yard rushing and receiving yard games, career 3+ sack games, career 15 + tackle games, career 2+ INT games. Franchise Team Records, such as Career Team Record leaders, Franchise leader in pass yards, rushing yards, receiving yards, tds etc.
    6. Overall history of all teams W/L records, W/L record vs a specific team especially my overall record vs division rivals
    7. New team relocation cities, names, uniforms, and new stadium builds. More customization allowed.
    8. Player morale, if a player is unhappy with contract, team performance, have the ability to request a trade, or release. The decisions you make affects your whole team.
    9. Better presentation packages. Monday night games should have a different presentation package from a Sunday Night game, and Thursday night game. So different scoreboard designs etc.
    10. Commentary that reflects what you do on a weekly and yearly basis. So if I have a QB who through for 300 yards week one, in week 5 commentary should reference things he’s done in past games. If I have a QB who threw for 50 tds in a season, then commentary should reference what he did last season, reflect on winning awards, Super Bowl etc. Past madden commentary do not do this. If my team wins a Superbowl in 2023 then in year 2026 there should be a stat display showing previous SB winning teams, while playing in regular season or playoff games. Commentary referencing that would be great. When breaking a record whether it’s NFL, or a TEAM FRANCHISE RECORD, commentary should reflect that, a stat display should reflect that. On Madden 22 commentary rarely mention that you broke a record nor is there any stat overlay that you can see showing you broke a NFL or Team Record. Madden does not have team records but need to be added.
    11. Training Camp/ Position Battles,
    12. Post game shows/Interviews/ weekly press conferences and Super Bowl media day
    13. Storylines, throughout franchise mode on a year to year basis, for a specific players career. Ex Patrick Mahomes grew up not too far from Dallas. Maybe one day throughout his career he would want to become a DALLAS Cowgirl. Store lines should follow specific things like that. Free agent storylines, Last year playing storylines, contract year, coming back from injury storylines, record watch storylines, big rivalry game storylines and so on.
  3. Weekly power rankings would be nice to have in the game. To track how teams are doing on a weekly basis and year to year basis.
    14. WE DESERVE SO MUCH MORE IN FRANCHISE MODE. After one season you’re pretty much bored of franchise mode because there’s not much to do in the mode.
I would add a bunch more but I know y’all hate reading long paragraphs, and watching long videos but we deserve better.
I don’t like SuperStar KO or MUT.
MUT definitely need a matchmaking because there’s no way a 79 ovr team should be getting matched up against a 95 + overall team. That’s one thing that forces players to buy packs!!
     Additions
  4.
  5. A real like GM mode.
So I’m a Gm of a team. The owner would have a list of demands like Win a SB in three years, or sweep a divisional rival, make the playoffs, win a playoff game, have a certain about of players reach the hall of fame, if I’m having a bad year, and I’m drafting top 5 the owner should have a day so on who I DRAFT. Owner should be like “We need a franchise QB” something to that extend, or we need to get a player maker at WR, or we need defensive help. Each decision you make in your franchise you get graded on your ability to be a GM. You should be able to be under contract as well. So if you’re doing good you can get rewarded with a new contract, or if you get fired you can go to another team, but not just any team. A team that will offer you a contract. So be careful of what team you’re picking. If you chose to be an owner then you should have a lot of control, have the ability to hire/fire GM’s. Sign sponsorship deals, tv contracts, and so on.

These are all great ideas.  Anyone have any other thoughts?  What do the game designers think?

1. Give everyone (PC PLAYERS) the full game. If they are really worried about compatibility, offer the regular pared down version for those who can't handle it.

2. Allow the ability to ignore salary cap and injuries when creating custom rosters for franchises that wont have those obstacles.

3. Actual team customization/ ability to realign divisions and conferences.

4. More trade slots, only 3 each side really limits you when making offers on big time players.

5. Off-field storylines for players in Franchise. ex. As a player, choose how to spend time off like they do in FotF, as a Coach/Owner maybe one of your players does charity work in the off time and jersey sales get a boost, or they get a morale boost and/or stamina drop for next game. On the other side, maybe a player gets suspended for off field activities.

6. A Coach mode like the game in 2008, where you would manage the team and call the plays.

7. MOSTLY STOP GIVING PC PLAYERS THE SHAFT

Nah man, copying NBA2K mycareer is exactly what EA should NOT do for the Madden series!

MyCareer got so much more worse over the last couple of years. It started as a great sandbox mode where you could have a realistic career coming to the NBA by having to negotiate with different GM's and earn your spot in a franchise.

Today you play a completely rigged story with the focus beeing more on how to become a famous rapper than a NBA star. Career mode has been cut more and more over the years to only become that absolute dull VC grinder that it is today.

Presentation also is getting worse and worse every year in the game. 2K is almost exclusively focussed on the online gamble mechanics to make the most profit possible even with the once offline game modes.

Madden at least still has that "sandbox" feeling to it that made NBA2K also great some years ago.

If EA would only focus on presentation and the gameplay basics, as well as the franchise mode for the next game then Madden series would be absolutely fine for a vast majority of players. Madden just needs some soul again.

EA needs a new CEO. Since hiring the current one, all of EA games have steadily recessed, not just Madden.

What Madden really needs is some competition from 2K

All the classic uniform, pant and helmet options for all 32 teams from the 1960's to present, home and away, all the classic stadiums include the referees in the game like 2k did more realistic game play and game that works
