I just bought two gaming PC's for me and my son; he's 11 and he is barely getting into MMO's. I wanted to show him SWTOR first since he's a major Star Wars fan.
The game installs and updates via launcher just fine, but when I try to Play, it does nothing.
At first I thought it was all the bloatware these PC's came with like McAfee and such, so I did a fresh install of Windows 11 for both and still nothing.
I uninstalled and re-installed just in case it didn't take the first couple times and it still doesn't launch.
It DOES launch on my old PC but thats Windows 10 and I only use that as a Plex server.
Any help would be appreciated. I wish I could give you some type of error or code but literally nothing happens at all.
All other games we play launch just fine.
TY

Thank you for helping me out during this time,
I went and searched and apparently im not the only one with this issue. I had no idea, I should have done a Google search first.
What worked is setting the launcher up for Windows XP SP3 compatability.
I have no idea why that worked but it did.
Thank you for sticking around at least, much appreciated.

Just wanted to say that I had the same problem and downloading the DirectX fixed it so thanks for posting that info.

Installing the DirectX package worked for me! Good luck in your gaming

I have the same problem and neither installing DirectX nor running in compatibility mode worked.

just to confirm you used this specific file https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=35
This is needed when the play button dims and brightens again when the play button is pressed
