Hi I am having an issue where when I click play on the launcher, loading picture comes up for a second then my screen goes black and stays black I have to hold the power button on my laptop to close it down then reboot it to get my laptop back to normal. I have run the game perfectly fine on my laptop several times before, my laptop is a high spec gaming laptop, well above the requirements of the game. I have contacted support but have got nowhere, this has been going on for 2 days now, any help you can give me with this issue will be appreciated.
Yours sincerely
Jonathan Haynes.
ps I attach a dx diag of my laptop

step through here initially , maybe the first thing to try is when the screen goes black , press ALT and Enter keys and see if it responds
it is likely related to the intel driver it sets the resolution for the nvidia

Hi thanks for the help
should have mentioned I have tried that it never responds
any ideas on how I can sort this out as I don't want to disable intel as that mucks up the rest of my laptop settings?
swtor has worked perfectly fine up tp now

only odd thing I see in the dxdiag is the intel says native is 1920 x 1080 but set to 1360 x 768
Current Mode: 1360 x 768 (32 bit) (60Hz)
Monitor Name: Generic PnP Monitor
Monitor Model: unknown
Monitor Id: AUO219D
Native Mode: 1920 x 1080(p) (60.037Hz)
the link I gave below shows how to get to the client_settings file , check all the resolution set and adjust as per the directions

just a side thing your windows power plan Is set to balanced , you will get better game performance once up and running by changing this to high performance

Does HP have drivers released for this laptop with win 10 , if so uninstall what is there and use theirs as a base before updating with generic drivers

my laptop does updates from hp and windows so it may already have them

I would try a re-install of the video drivers in particular the intel one then the NVidia , ensure the game is set to use the NVidia driver
black screen is usually tied to the driver somehow
