Im looking at buying anew pc for sims. I need something thaty can be quick and also be able to handle all of my mods as i have lots. I'm looking for a pc that is good quality but isnt too expensive as ive had trouble in the past with computers. Should i be looking at getting a desktop or even an imac?

@am44567  Something like this would work great.  Its processor is more than fine, both for Sims 4 and for more demanding games; its graphics card can run all current Sims 4 packs together on ultra settings with some room to spare; it has a 480 GB solid state drive, which is more than enough storage.  It does only have 8 GB memory, but you could upgrade that yourself if you wanted—a matching RAM stick might cost about $50.  For $1,100, you'd still have room in your budget for a quality monitor too.

If you don't want to buy from that company for whatever reason, this is basically the same build except it has 16 GB of memory, and the memory is faster.  It's $1,200.

An alternate would be this one, for $1,150.  Its graphics card is newer but marginally slower, and it has a combination 256 GB SSD/1 TB HDD if you really need the extra storage.  (I'd personally go with the 500 GB SSD, but that's because I'd rather have fast storage than more of it.)

There are a number of sites that offer custom builds, but I took a look and don't think you'd do better on the price, especially considering you're not looking for an uncommon or special configuration.

In terms of performance to price ratio, a Windows desktop would be your best option.  Desktops perform better than laptops for the same hardware, and they're also less likely to overheat while you play, which can drag down performance.  Of course, laptops are more convenient, so the price or the performance hit is often worth it.  Macs are great computers, but they're more expensive, and in terms of gaming performance, they're not in the same league as the equivalent Windows systems.

If you'd like some suggestions for what to buy, just list your budget and country, as well as any other details that matter to you, like whether you decide you want a laptop or desktop.

My price range would probably be from $0 - $1.300 $1.400 at the most.

@puzzlezaddict oh also. I have lots of mods and script mods so it needs to be able to run smoothly with all the mods in the background. I'm looking at a desktop and not a laptop, just because i recently bought a $700 laptop to play sims but it has been slow for everything and just not working. So i would love for some opinions.
