canasta rated 4 person game

How does one play a rated, 4 person game?  I know you can set the table in the play with friends mode, but why is the default a 2 hand game?  Canasta was not created as a 2 hand game?  why did you go this route?

btw, I don't give a flying fig about some stinkin' badges.... just make Canasta work for us or you lose my $$$
