can't open chat

I haven't had a chat bar for a long time but I now want it and don't know how to open it.  I don't have a little gear to open.  Looks like something is missing.  Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hey @JoyDolores1 are you trying to open a chat and speak with our live support or trying to use chat in a game?

@EA_Darko Chat during a game. As of yesterday I can now open chat in the new experience but unable to in classic pogo. There is no gear to click on. thank You.
