Re: best laptop for sims 4 with most packs, mods, cc

@alyssajadesim  That laptop would run all Sims 4 packs together on high or medium-high settings.  But you can do a lot better for under $800.  An Nvidia 1650 graphics card would run all current Sims 4 content on ultra settings with some room to spare, which would help accommodate the demands of future expansion packs.  (We don't know how demanding they'll be, but adding EPs does mean the game takes more resources to run.)

You can actually get a laptop with a 1650 for under $700 right now.  This Acer is $670 and has a small hard drive, but 256 GB is enough for Sims 4, your saves, and all the mods and custom content you could download.  It might not be enough if you wanted to play other large games though.

This Dell is $660 and has the same specs, other than a slightly weaker processor, which wouldn't matter to Sims 4—the processor in the Dell is already more than strong enough.

If you have a bit of patience, these two laptops, both coming soon, are $700.  The Acer has a single 512 GB solid state drive; the Lenovo has a combination 256 GB SSD/1 TB HDD (mechanical drive).  The Lenovo's processor is also a bit stronger, but that won't make any difference to Sims 4.  The laptops should run the game pretty much equally.

If you really don't wnt to wait, this Asus is currently on sale for $750 and has an equivalent processor to the ones above, plus a 512 GB SSD.

If you like the Acer Aspire you linked, this two are more powerful versions, with the same specs as the others listed here; they're $750 and $800.

Finally, this laptop is $800 and has a significantly faster graphics card (an Nvidia 1660 ti) than the others.  Sims 4 may or may not ever benefit from this faster card; it's impossible to know how demanding the game will be before it's out of development.  So this laptop might be a good choice if you want to futureproof.  It does only have a 256 GB SSD though.

I know this is kind of a long list, but without having any idea of what you want aside from the ability to play Sims 4 on decent settings, I figured I'd list all the good options so you could take a look yourself.  If you have more questions about any of them, please feel free to ask.

Re: best laptop for sims 4 with most packs, mods, cc

@alyssajadesim  Yes, its hardware would run all current Sims 4 packs together on ultra settings, with some headroom to accommodate mods or high poly custom content.  All the laptops I listed, except for the last one, have basically the same processor and graphics card, and so would run the game pretty much equally well, give or take some small differences in how the laptops are built and the manufacturers' driver support.  (This is kind of hard to predict, but all the laptops should be more than fine.)

Unfortunately, it looks like the Acer is sold out right now.  It will probably be back soon enough, but it's not clear from Acer's site when that will happen.

sorry i keep asking questions but my budget has dropped to under $600 because of a personal emergency, it only needs to be able to run the game packs and expansion packs and a couple stuff packs, and a good amount of mods/cc. i understand that most of the demands may not be met but could you tell me some good computers that are under $600

Re: best laptop for sims 4 with most packs, mods, cc

@alyssajadesim  Would exactly $600 work?  This one has an Nvidia 1650 and other suitable hardware.  Although its hard drive is small, it's enough for Sims 4 and all associated content.

https://www.amazon.com/Acer-i5-9300H-MaxxAudio-Keyboard-AN515-54-5812/dp/B086KJBKDW

If you're willing to get a used laptop, something like this ($550) would run Sims 4 on medium-high or high settings, even with all packs installed:

https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-Laptop-Intel-Renewed/dp/B082857VJJ

The graphics card in this one is a bit slower, and the laptop is $30 cheaper:

https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-Windows-Certified-Refurbished/dp/B0788YDD1F

For new options, this is the best one I saw for about $550; its integrated graphics card is slower than the ones above, but it should still handle medium settings quite well.

https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VivoBook-R7-3700U-Fingerprint-F512DA-NH77/dp/B085344M9Q

If you really want to save money and just want the game to work, this is a perfectly viable option ($450) for medium settings:

https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-laptops/inspiron-15-3000-laptop/spd/inspiron-15-3595-laptop/nn3...

There are likely other similar options out there too; let me know if you'd like to see more of a particular type.

i am so so sorry for my never-ending questions but I went to buy the Asus vivobook 15 that you linked but the price has increased by $100, and the other two i liked were sold out. i was wondering if you had any more recommendations for a laptop that could handle my mods and most packs (still under $600). thank you Standard smile

would any of these work

Re: best laptop for sims 4 with most packs, mods, cc

@alyssajadesim  None of those are in the same class as the ones I linked.  Their processors are weaker, and their integrated graphics chips are significantly slower.

This one is quite similar to a couple of the laptops I linked, and there's a used option from Amazon Warehouse for $514:

https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Ultra-Slim-WideView-Processor-Fingerprint/dp/B07JB56QJ7/

This one has a slightly faster graphics card and larger hard drive and comes from the Acer Recertified Store.  It's $580.

https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-i5-10210U-Windows-Renewed/dp/B084CTTDHH/

In terms of new laptops, this HP ($544) has the same specs as the Vivobook, except with a smaller hard drive:

https://www.amazon.com/pulgadas-Windows-15-ef0022nr-173N3UA-ABA/dp/B0876H4VHJ/

This Acer ($560) has a 512 GB hard drive and an even stronger processor, with a faster graphics chip, than the Vivobook or the HP, although the chip is still somewhat slower than the MX150.

And yes, prices can change quickly, and stock turns over too.
