There is no way to cook or refrigerate food, only cabinets, counters, a sink, and seating. There isn't even a microwave, a rice cooker, a countertop burner, or a mini fridge. Japanese apartments may not always come with these items, but a fully furnished house should have equipment necessary to store and prepare food.
